the lil woman cleaned up some of my clutter
now if i just find wgere she put my stuff
I Like those little desktof 3 drawer things from wal mart
use 1 as my tool box
All those plastic containers
the lil woman was not using so i confiscated and use to store some of my stuff
the 44 drawer thing i got out at wal mart also
I use a lot of different size rubber tips fot my sticks
I also use several different size wooden doll heads for stick toppers
(you know the round basswood cut flat on the bottom with a 3/16 hole on bottom avail in craft section at wal mart and Hobby Lobby)
also have some leater stamping tools in those drawers
copper and brass couplings to go on my canes
Office section is not as cluttered
fax machine broke threw it away
printer broke threw it away have a friend's extra printer borrowed it
is on small writing desk next to the sticks not hooked up
cd writer just quit
guess i am going to be buying some new stuff in 2005
and then too I am being lazy
not done anything since those crazy whistles a few days ago
I have a stick that i just put an antler hand piece on and stained got to go out to the shop and polly it
put the antler on in the shop and stained it in the shop
do all my power sanding either in the shop or on the porch and all my sawing
staining and polly in the shop
I will paint small carvings in the house though |

| | Re: Show us your Carving station area, Wayne - Know where your coming from on the computer equipment. My hard drive was headed south in a hurry so figured I might as well spring for a new box and park the old one. Figured while I was at it, might as well upgrade the os as well cause the old one was a version behind. So bought a system with no os downloaded a new one and spent yesterday installing it and getting the glitches out of the box (the dummies shipped it with the floppy not connected to the controller or power) took me a lot longer than it should have to figure it out. Should have spotted it right off when I was putting in the extra memory. But, she's up and runnin now. |

| | Re: Show us your Carving station area, Jim...the avatar is a sketch I did touse on my display cards (former business cards). Finally figured out how to reduce it and load it here. A bit of a play on words......the vessel is a "brig" ...and of course brigs are "square-rigged".....= Squarebriggs....my name and logo!
Glad you like it.

the walmart polybulate plastic 2 drawer things works well, or untill you decide its just the thing to keep your minature plyer collection in, but as the collection grows, the drawers deform, drag and finely crack...
but if you remember plastic wont stand for any strain, and you can maintain the disipln of not just stuffing the drawers full them little $2.00 drawer things are great for keeping lightweight things seprate from heavy things..
---
my cart idea aint gonna make it. this service cart was rated at 250 pounds, aint got all the surface covered yet and the castors are showing strain...hummm, (pic attached)
--
them clear plastic shoe boxes from walmart, good for small basswood blocks or carataures, ect.. i'v collected so many of them i need to build shelving for them.. it never quits
design, destruct, build, carve a bit, put it in a box and start again. |

| | Re: Show us your Carving station area, so far it has held up pretty good
I do wish they made a little small metal one like it that was the same size
I like your cart idea
they do make some nice rolling tool boxes
I have seen some of those bottoms at good prices
some of the less expensive ones should work fine
might have to change out the wheels on the really cheaper ones to make the roll good. Good thing about that rolling tool box cabinet is the top of it makes a good work space also |

| | Re: Show us your Carving station area, In the service i worked maintence,
they bought A D Kits from somewhere, the kits were 12 inches squair, and were replacement fasteners of all types pre sorted and these i inch deep trays were covered with a sheet metal wrapping that locked into each other, which made mighty fine drawer system for the little things,
not worth buying the ad kits for the drawer i would amigne they were $50.00 each knowing the government spending..
tool boxes/chests are out of site, nice roll aways are $900-a grand, hummm
Rockler.com was showing a wooden machienist tool chest made from oak, i been thinking along them lines, to custom build 2 wing chests for my small work bench
if the tool aint handy, you might as well not have it,
us old folks forget what were hunting when we get up to walk across the shop to get it. haha | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
