Rocket, these are definately Janel's work.

Old-G, There are discrepancies in his story, Emil did work with his Father and brothers in Canada, but the man who financed his move to San Francisco was a shopkeeper in Seattle not Canada.

Also, to leave 90 carvings as payment for a $400.00 loan seems a bit of tall tale also.

Perhaps I can not afford the carvings, but history is cheap.

Big Al, Emil used dye on many of his carvings . With good pictures you can see it very well. He just tinted it but the way he did it would Hi-lite it right where it would really get the message accross.

Looking over the ebay auction, the insurance isn't offered, but you can purchase insurance through the post office. I never thought of people taking the wording that way. When I place an auction, it is usually worded that way, meaning the cost of shipping dosen't include the cost of insurance. I'm going to word it differently from now on. So having said all of that, go ahead and buy it, whats money for if not to buy carvings??

90 of Emil Janels carvings for a $400.00 loan! Wish he had come to me I would have loaned him a whole lot more ,Lol.
