Default Sad Sack

Had a few hours at night in a motel on business last week and carved a little each night to relax ..

This fellow is what I came up with .. a sort as sad sack I call him ..

Finally got around to painting him and here he is ..

He could be anyone .. out of work and luck fellow .. or just someone on the street ..

Carving is so great when you just want to relax .. Isnt it !

Hope you enjoy .. Flat Plane with a knife

Gene

Hi Gene, another cutie for sure, sort of looks like me when I mess up a carving and decide there's no turning back and away she goes. Tell me, is the head in that one carved separately, it sort of looks like it could be.

Always great to see a new carving from you Gene. Another neat little carving. Looks like the head was carved separate on this one... very cool and the little belt detail adds a lot in my opinion. Thanks for posting him. And yes, carving is so relaxing. I sat yesterday while at the MIL's and my son was smoking a turkey and I was carving another hound dog. I enjoyed it and the clean up was left to the wind..... lol.

Yea he looks a little down and out but your little guys always stand out! Just the simple cuts and groves make your carving jump and move.

Its such a pleasure to view your neat flat planes no two look the same.

Every one from miles around knows your work Gene, they are the best they've seen. I know this for a sure fact,if its a old hobo with a sack on his back. To your cute little bears, thoses too are known everywhere!

We all have learn from your neat flat planes and as me I rush each time to see them again.

Thanks old buddy for brighten up my morning today, your neat little guys always make my day!

Such neat work Gene,Forrest
