Ron Weasley... Thanks to the responses to my previous post about cartoon perspectives and Brian the dog! I finished it and completed the painting of it (acrylics) on March 2nd., for my 15 year old son Ben--he eventually wants me to carve all of the characters from the show.
Now, I am working on a figure of Ron Weasley, Harry Potter's friend, for my 11 year old daughter, Kaitlin, out of basswood. So far (I have no bandsaw), I have the picture drawn (courtesy of Google.com, via an image search--a good tool for carvers/whittlers) and am working on roughing out the outline of Ron. I've made her Hermione Granger and the house elf, Doby, from the books/movies previous to this--she wants me to do all of the characters, also eventually.
Who can run out of ideas to carve things, when one has an "adoring public" within one's own family? Oh, well...it keeps me off of the streets, anyway!
I just got a bunch of cedar from a mill today--which should keep me off of the streets for some time to come--now, to lay in a supply of bandages... |
