Default R. Landen design cowboy

Finishing up on a couple of carvings started last year. This neat idea cowboy was started in Randy's class at Congress and just finished. Painted different than original. If you can imagine sun in front and high you can pick out shadows painted front and back. This was fun to do. I call it "Bar NUN".

The next post of two pictures is trying to show shading.

Hi Bob, good job on all accounts. More and more carvers who paint their work is learning how to paint them like an painter would paint a subject on canvas. Hope this makes sense to you. Your carving skills are just wonderful. I think I've seen this character around Prescott, AZ.

Mottles,
A real person or a carving? I'd hate to carry that nose every where I went.
thanks

Bob, he looks great. Your extra attention to the paint job really sets it off as top notch. Well done.

I'd say that's a winner. 'Ya got some real nice curvature to that bandana...lots of character in the carving as well as the painting. Extra-fine work.
