| | Question for Lynn or anyone else who knows Mules Hello all,
Was wondering Lynn, I've been following your horse's head tutorial on your blog. I really am trying to modify it into a mule, got a neighbor who has one and would like another he doesn't have to feed.
I'm working on a quick sketch to get him figured out. The main difference I'm seeing in the facial stuctures is a more pronounced muzzle and bigger ears, but it seems like I'm missing something that makes it a mule.
Can you help?
Thanks
Doug |

| | Re: Question for Lynn or anyone else who knows Mules What? So now I'm supposed to be an expert on Asses? Only kidding! The first thing I'd do is grab my camera and walk across the road and start snapping. The body structure is basically the same. Long ears, stiff mane, oriental looking eyes. Do a little research on Donkeys as that's half of what a mule is. The coloring features of a mule are really important.
I've got three mules just across the road and have to listen to them all day. Let me know if I can be of more help and keep me posted on your project. If you use my pattern for the horse just lengthen the ears. |

| | Re: Question for Lynn or anyone else who knows Mules Hey now I didn't wanna start that rumor Lynn, no one said you were an expert lol
I think the oriental eyes is what I'm missing on the design.
What do you mean "The coloring features of a mule are really important."
Is there some coloration different in them than a horse, Ralph's just seems to be a dark brown with a very light grey drybrush over top. Am I missing something else?
I really apreciate your help and input, your blog is a great tool for me.
Thanks

| | Re: Question for Lynn or anyone else who knows Mules Thanks Lynn,
I like em a lot. The markings on yours is more donkey like than my neighbors mule. I like the donkey look much better. The eyes is where my mistake was, the facial construction on yours looks just like Bobo the coloration is diferent but I think I'll go with yours, Bobo is to plain.
Thanks Lynn I'm glad we have you around these parts.
