Default Please...I need help - golf ball in cage

Does anyone out there in Caricature land have the step by step on the golf ball in the cage as shown in the attached pic? Apparentely it was in an old issue of one of the magazines (not sure which one) I'd appreciate any help I can get. I think they would make great x-mas presents for the three golfers on my list.

I believe it's in Carving Magazine issue #2. I'd have to check at home to be sure.

The info is in Issue #2. Coincidence, but I was reading it just last night.

Actually, no. It's Carving Magazine, not Wood Carving Illustrated. It's one of the competition. Their address is www.carvingmagazine.com

Hey Mike, thanks bud, I checked it out, I'll wait a day or so and see what lands in my mail box, if nothing shows up I'll order that issue (I see it listed). Problem here is I just rec'd 20 back issues of WCI and being as I am brand new to the hobby and spending a bunch on tools and stuff, mamma's getting a little testy. Damn, you'd think she'd be used to it after 53 years. WOW, what next (smile)

I know WCI sells reprints, I am not sure about Carving Magazine. If there is anything in particular you need from that article let me know. It is still laying on my coffee table from last night (my old lady gets testy about that).

BobT, I wonder how long it would take for me to run over to your place from Ontario Canada to have a look at that book of yours. Being as gas is about $1.00 a quart over here, guess I'll pass on that idea. I guess the main thing is, how many holes do ya drill in for the golf ball, I believe they are 1 and 3/4 in in a 2 inch square, is that right? And then the back hole you make it an eight wider on each side, is that it?
Thanks
Cliff

You are correct on each point, he drilled two holes as I remember, then carved away the connecting wood.
