| | Re: Pirate/Buccaneer patterns No paterns, but go to NFL.com === click on Tampa Bay Buc's, then look around their site for pictures.
Being a fan, I carved a football helmet and got the pattern off a poster that was on the site. There's also good pictures of pirates.
Good luck

Also, send a request to my brother.... He is a clip-art artist and would enjoy seeing his 'flat' art turned into 3-D art. I would caution you that you need to be specific as possible in your request, so he can target what you are looking for. He specializes in mascots and action figures. He can be reached at 'chris@promartart.com'.

Update: changed to "rivalart.com", but the other will take you to the same place.
There are many of various types. This is the style that my brother does.

| | Re: Pirate/Buccaneer patterns Thanks for all your input. I did find a picture of a pirate from an old book that I am going to modify and try to use as a pattern. We shall see how it goes.
Mitch- I checked out the jamnart website you mentioned. Very impressive. I will keep it in mind if my attempt fails.
Thanks again. |

Good luck on the carving. I have tried to persuade my brother to make multiperspective drawings to be used for woodcarving patterns. He has recently been commisioned to do drawings for a model making project and is doing 4 angle patterns for this. I have used a few of his drawings (one view) for carving patterns and it can be tricky to get the other angle. Anyway thanks for the interest. Most of the drawings on the web site were his originals.... the rights were purchased by that company.

| | Re: Pirate/Buccaneer patterns Well, if you make a mistake and cut off too much wood on your pirate you could make him like one of the ones in the new movie coming out, The Pirates of the Carribean. Just saw the previews for it, looks pretty good, if you like those scary types of shows....I do! Callynne (a real Dean Koontz, Stephen King kind of person) |

| | Re: Pirate/Buccaneer patterns I seem to remember someone mentioning animals on this site and a way to stop a DVD and posting the picture on there computer for a pattern. If the person posted the info repeated it you might be able to do it with a pirate movie. May not be a good idea but thought I would mention it. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
