Peter Ortel on DIY tv

I just got in this evening and my wife had left a reminder on the tv that Peter Ortel was on at 6:30 - she had left to go bowling. Â*

If you get the DIY channel, he is on again a few more times. Â*I bring this up here because Wood Carving Illustrated helped promote the show - although I have not seen any notice here. Â*

He comes on again Dec 28 at 8:30 am EST, Jan 18 at 8:30 am EST, and Jan 26 at 2:30 am EST. Â*

Other shows (can see basic preview on DIY web site under wood sculpting) are a woodspirit by Vic Hood, Colt and Mare Chasie Lounge, Mallard Drake Decoy, Â*and Branch Rooster. Â*

That being said, Peter carved a NY Fireman. Â*The instruction was a VERY brief overview with only about 18-20 minutes presented; the rest being commercials. Â*I missed the first few minutes because I didn't know it was coming on..... I only saw the reminder a little after 6:30 as I was doing something else - starting a fire in the fireplace - dang it's cold tonight! Â*

Actually, I brought it up a couple weeks ago (under the general topic) because we have four carvers featured (Pete, Vic Hood, Tom Matus and Chris Lubkhman (SP)) I was trying to rally support to try to get more cable companies to carry DIY (Many people don't get it)...so there was some notice. We don't even have it here in East Petersburg, PA, but DIY was nice enough to send us a copy and we're all going out tonight to watch it!

big Wayne, it's a 'high channel' on cable. It comes with the mid-level extras with our providers package. I don't ususally watch it, but a carving friend in GA told my wife about the show a month or so ago. She remembered - I forgot.

Hey, BobD - I didn't mean to 'dis' you about the lack of notice. I really didn't mean on the message board, but on the main web site in general. Seems like I do remember something now that you mention it. I suppose one reason not to publicize is due to the relatively low number of people actually getting the DIY channel.

DIY may have some way to order a tape of the show. It would be worth it if they add to the length fo the show. BobD's may be longer than what was aired.
