Default Pete LeClair

Hey all, I have an opportunity to take a class with Pete LeClair this spring. I have two of his books and really enjoy them. Has anyone ever taken a class with him. If so how did you like it? What's his teaching style? I still consider myself a beginner after 20 some years of carving, because I am just now becoming interested in caricatures. I sometimes feel a little intimidated when around the instructors even though they try to put me at ease. Just a question.
have fun, carve Harold

Pete is a very good instructor. He will let you work at your pace. The class that I took with him, he spent time with each student - working his way around the group. Therefore, he would work with you for a few minutes, then move on to the next student. You would then work on what he showed you. There's extra time and you might want to follow him and watch him with other students.

He's a great fellow too and easy to talk with. There's no need to feel intimidated - they teach because that's what they like to do.

I got excited when I heard he had a cd so I contacted "PETE" on his web site ( and he will answer you) he told me that it was for his students and all that was on the cd was a bunch of pictures of the thing he was carving and that he made it avaible for those how take his class . and It was not for sale .
