| | The Patriot....No, He's not Naked! I did this piece in '04 for the Daughters of the American Revolution to be raffled off at their annual convention. It traveled all across the USA to regional events to help raise money for the group. From what I understand it did pretty good.
I had an opportunity yesterday to momentarily regain control of it so I could take some good photos. I think this is one of the best pieces I've ever done. Everything just seemed to come together for it and I finished it in just a couple of days as I was having so much fun doing it. I really like the rifle and the detail on the flintlock and powder pan.
Anyway, I hope you ejoy looking at it. Unfortunately, they took it away from me again. |

How do you manage to get your hat brims so thin without busting them?

| | Re: The Patriot....No, He's not Naked! Sorry about the lack of closeups. Here are a couple. Look closely and you'll see a Brad Nail. It's all made from pieces of tin and held in place with a small tack.
Hat Brims....visit my Blog for the latest lesson. It covers hat brims. However, in this instance the brim grain runs vertically with the rest of the body.

| | Re: The Patriot....No, He's not Naked! Lynn, Very beautiful work, the detailing and painting is just fantastic. The whole look of the piece is 100% Patriot, the face, dress, posture, colors etc., and the gun, again, your details take it "up-a-notch". The owner I'm sure is very proud of this piece. Bill |
