Great job on the horse Vince; but I gotta say that shield is a real eye catcher. I love the detail that you've given to the feathers , spear etc.

An excellent job on both the shield and the horse. My comment is on the composition of the scene...I think that there is just too much going on for one scene. There is not a definative focal point and the eyes are not directed to the main aspect of the scene because there are two major points to chose from. The shield on it's stand is taller and larger than the horse, so that adds (for me anyway) a little confusion as to the scale of the scene. I wonder if the balance would be better with the horse forward and the shield hanging on that tree? Just a thought, it might not work at all, but that way the tripod holding the shield would not be taller than the horse and that might even out the scale a bit. The other thing to consider is turning this into TWO works, each with one major aspect.

I really like the carvings and they are well done, just a little constructive critisism from MY vantage point, and reflects only my taste...congrats on great work.
