| | Re: Painted and Finished Carving.. Thanks John, Bonnie and Lonnie. Lonnie I used oils and applied them in washes with turpentine. I painted the whole figure and then applied a shot of lacquer to dry the oils and then used a dark wash on the face, hair etc. then dry brushed over that. Pretty much the same techinique that Tom Wolfe has used for a long time.
