Great job. I love the off-kelter jacket and the face is marvelous.

Jim, the carving and painting, both, are just fantastic. Would you mind telling me what kind of finish you used? It has such a warm, mellow look to it. I love it!

Jim you gotta get a little better picture of the snake,
i seen you mentioned it, after a little tweaking on the picture i can tell theres something at his feet tyed with a hanging rope, i think it would be wirt the effort for some new pics to show the snake, maybe another color backround

it misses the humor you put into the carving without it.

Banjo
I paint with acrylic's mixed with water except i use it straight out of the bottle for the eyes and belts. ....then I take some..... blo... and mix a few drops of raw sienna with it and just dip the carving or brush it on (blo) and after it drys for 24 hr spray 3 coats of deft. I like the look of the blo and raw sienna to me it looks like a sun tan skin or what skin looks like when you work out side.

I agree with Gene. He does look like Rooster Cogburn, but I don't remember the Duke ever taking a rattle snake for a walk. Great carving. Well done.

Well I must say that one eye pete and his snake jake are great. Too bad for every one that cannot see it and touch it ! For the pictures do not do it justice. I forgot to ask what do you use to sign your great work! moon
