| | old buzzard old buzzard i started out of Jim Maxwells Book Carving Characters.
see more at this link
or copy and paste this in your browser... http://picasaweb.google.com/thomp51L...vingCharacters
Although not much more than a rough out at this point im having little trouble, seams i forgot what a comical buzzard should look like, guess it will set on my bench a couple weeks till i get an idea or motivation to get the bench clean...
i dont plan to thin out the neck as thin as the original toothpick sized neck becuse i have a 3 year year old carving critic who gets alittle tough with them sometimes, ..... being it will be the thinnest point and i dont want to have to dowell it... with 1/8 bamboo dowell just dont think i could get it right if it busted,
thanks for looking comments welcome, ya aint gonna hurt my feelings its a hunk of wood at this point...

| | Re: old buzzard Thomp .. looks to me you doing a fine job so far ..
Have you got Jim's book .. look closely at his idea .. he does a good job of the face in it ...
Also in Cleve Taylors book'' Hangin In There " .. he has a good closeup of the buzzard's face ..
Thanks
