| | Re: New Twist to Golf Ball Cage Gene, it's all your fault for being such an inspiration with your little tutorials on here, man, if I could see your videos, "the skys the limit" once again Gene, thanks again, you're the man. To be honest, I never intended to do any of this as a money maker, but dang, I've really got a LOT of money invested in tools, so a few bucks back sure is nice to get.

| | Re: New Twist to Golf Ball Cage Cliff, nice work!! You're being really productive! And, wow your first sale! Good for you. I haven't even thought of selling what I make. So far everything I've made has been a gift for someone. I can't even imagine what I might ask for one of my pieces, (just don't consider it). I do have a lot of money invested in my tools though, so maybe I should think of making stuff to sell. My scrollsaw has paid for it's self since I've sold a lot of pieces from there. Any formula to figure how to charge for a carving? |

| | Re: New Twist to Golf Ball Cage Jim OH, thanks bud, it's good to hear from you, you for one know how tough I found it in the beginning, it's all starting to make a little sense now, thanks for posting the comment. Jim Sawyer, I really have no idea as to how I should price an item, a friend told a golfer friend what I was carving and he made me a suitable offer and away it went. I will certainly never get rich on what I sell, because as you stated, most I have given away, and to be honest, I personally don't consider my carvings good enough to be trying to sell them, and at my age am not interested in doing shows and stuff, so I guess I'll just keep havin fun.

They really look great!
Between Gene and everyone else's tutorials, we're all improving!
I too like Mark's bobber idea.
Congrats on the sale, I make my wife price anything I sell.
She goes the craft sales and craft shops a lot more often than I do.
Besides she tells me I sell too cheap.
Thanks for sharing,

| | Re: New Twist to Golf Ball Cage Hi Cliff, Congrats. on your Sale. I don't know if you know this but, by selling your work you give up your amateur standing as a Woodcarver. lol. Your are now a Professional Woodcarver. With your determination I knew it would happen sooner or later. Good job Cliff. Merle | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
