What kind of chisels are those Ron? The ones in the rack? Are those the Japanese chisels I see advertized?

Another NEAT carving Ron. Are you able to rely much on the enlargement on the monitor, when you carve? Or is it mostly by feel? Tom H

Dave most of those chisels and gouges you see are Lamp brand and the rest are Flexcut. I do have a set of japanese that I really like.

Tom the monitor I use mainly to check detail. I also use it to make sure which knife I picked up. Don't need any more cuts. I do try and watch as much of the monitor as possible but it strains the eye real quick so most is done by touch.

Great work! I love the expression on his face, kinda looks like me some mornings when I first get up.

To help with eyestrain from looking at the monitor, have you tried putting a lamp behind the monitor? Place it so the light sort of shows up all around the sides, not directly in your face. I know this helps some people.

Light behind the monitor wouldn't help. It's what remains of my optic nerve is very little. There is not much a person can do about it. I really don't mind you get used to it. You ought to see me cut up a steak.

Hi Ron, Really great!

You remind me of my father, who is blind. He played lawn bowls and won an Olympic gold medal, a world medal and was National champion Blind Lawn Bowler for about 6 years in Australia. He now plays with sighted players.
A handicap is no handicap! I wish, that with time, I will be able to carve half as good as you...it may take a while.
