Default new book

just received mike shipleys new book woodcarving country folk. well folks i think this is one of the finest carving books that has come out in long time,i think this is gonna be a fun book to have and carve from. check it out if you have a chance.

just my 2 cents worth

I have that book also and it's fantastic. The country folks are a lot of fun to carve.

I have the book also, but even better, I spent this past weekend carving with Mike. Had a great time, learned a lot, and after 2 days had completed 3 carvings. (A first for me, I'm not a fast carver). His carving style is fairly simple, but he gets enough detail in to really make them great carvings. I'm looking forward to working my way through his book.

Hey Bob! Good to see you on the board! I would love to see those carvings from the class! I'm thinking about trying the one from the last WCI magazine. I will let you know how it turns out!
