Default A New Blank!

Now there's a hunk of wood! A war bonnet blank for a new figure! Old Reliable is a little nervous! I cut this blank on three profiles.....Top, Side and Front. Almost a 7" square but that 3/16" 4TPI blade zipped right through it.

That's a big chunk of wood! I finally wore out my 1/4" 6tpi blade and bought a 3/16th 4tpi blade. A little rougher cut, but it cuts faster and does narrower turns, just like you say. Wished I'd wore out the other a little quicker now.

That's not a blank, its a stump. Is he going to be a bust or a full figure? Either way there is certainly some size to this project.

Wish I could be lookin' over your shoulder to see how you carve this one. Maybe if it works out you'll make a video of the next one for us. Hope so.

I would also love to see it being carved. But look forward to seeing the finished carving.
