I just finished a Harold Enlow roughout and wanted an opinion. Do I paint it or leave it natural ala Marv Kaisersatt. The photo shows the carving wet after cleaning and I kind of like the looks of it. What do you all think?

don, what about a limited amount of paint, like just eyes and teeth and then give it a natural finish like a coat of wax or blo or poly whatever is your liking, i agree also great carving really like those flowers. bart |

its a great carving, but I think they just pop when painted.....just my opinion!

Don, personally, I think you should find another hobby, you've totally conquered this one. That's a beautiful piece and I agree with some of the others, a very light color wash would go a long way, thanks for showing such a nice carving. Cliff |

That is just adorable! I'd have a hard time deciding too on if to paint or not.

I think it looks good natural, but if you do decide to paint, use very very very thin washes - I think it'd be best with just a hint of color on the clothing, and as bart says, the teeth and eyes could have a little more opaque white. Claude |
