Default My turn to share, what I have anyway

Hey Gang,
I have been lurking for a while now and look forward to the new posts every day. I am very impressed and inspired by the talent on this site. So I figured that I should introduce myself and share a little. First off my name is Jim and I have been carving on and off since 1993. Work and other hobbies had me putting the carving on the back burner for a while but I am attempting to get back into the swing of things.
Most of my projects did not stay in my possession long enough to get digital pictures but here are a few pictures of some things that I have done; first is the “Hanging in there” carving that I did a few years ago. Then the next two are of a “Spirit Lure” that I made for a friend at work. Then the Horse is the first piece in a three piece current project. It is my first carving in over a year but was a lot of fun to get back into it. Anyway I hope to be able to add a bit to the board as time goes by.

Jim

Great work, Jim. I look forward to seeing more of your work. That poor little horse looks like he needs fed! Can't wait to see the rest of the project! ~ Joy

Thanks for posting Jim, these are really good. Can you please explain the middle picture though? What's a spirit lure?

Thanks for the comments. As for the Spirit lure...well it is just a fancy fishing lure, decorated with Western Native American designs and such. I made it for a buddy here at work that is really into fishing. I made it strong enough to fish with but it is mostly for lookin at. Thanks again for the comments.

Thanks to all for the nice comments. The horse is from a Tom Wolfe pattern that my wife changed up a bit for me. The front left leg is up and out a bit because the next part is going to be farrier putting a shoe on the horse. Again thanks for the comments and I hope to add more to the board as I get them done.

Jim
