This figure I carved with Rick Ferry. He supplied the blank and photos to myself and 4 other carvers and helped through out the project. I reached a stopping point when my nose was accidentally snapped off and I had made a mess of the face at that point. I was ready to cut the head off and carve a new head at a later date but Rick said I could save it and suggested I carve a different face. So that is what I did. The original was to be a little fat and round hillbilly dude. Attached the original photo of the project and a photo of the stopping point I hit. It's ugly! Corey

Here is the finished figure with the head re-carved. I was pretty happy with the results compared to where I was at. Ricks a great guy and carver. Thanks for looking. Corey

Corey, I think you did a very good job on that carving....also you had a good teacher. do not give that one away..... number it .....and date it ....and keep it....even as good as it is ...years down the road your going to say......I was good then ...but baby look at me now..lol Jim

Corey, What a fantastic learning experience, you'll use that lesson over and over again and agian on future carvings. many times i'll be carving with one thing in mind, only to change directions and end up with something better. Good job. Bill
