Default Mr. Lincoln

This started out as Abraham Lincoln. It did favor him more until I decided to "tweek" his jawline. Now he looks more like Leonard Nemoy as Mr. Lincoln. I think what I did wrong was to take away the sunken cheek effect I originally had. He is to round in the jaw now. I still like him though. My favorite detail, the mole, is more pronounced in person.

This is my first bottlestopper. I may use him as my cork in my canteen for civil war reenacting.

I hope the file gets attached. Last time my pictures were to big but they would not thumbnail for me. Sorry everyone.

Nice job! You got the major landmarks on Old Abe. And you're right about the sunken cheeks. It's not too late to fix that and I think you'd really like the result of taking a chip out on each side just below the cheek bone. Lincoln had a very gaunt appearance and fat cheeks just don't fit.

Either way it's a nice carving. I don't think I'd use it as a canteen stopper though. Some Reb would grab it and hold him hostage!

Looks like a good Abe to me. Think he would be very capable of stopping a bottle. Good job!
