Excellent carving, and painting. I don't paint much, wish I was more skilled at it. Do you use oils, or acrylics?

Carl, I use acrylics and on this one I dipped the piece in water before I painted it and always thin down your paint. Sometimes it takes multiple coats to achieve the color you want but thinner is better. You still want your carving to look like wood and not plastic. Lynn Doughty's site will take you through this step by step. Once finished seal it with polyurethane and wipe off the excess.
