| | Minature Shotgun Wedding Well .. finally the plant shut down is winding down more and more and boy ..when you try to install new machinery on old units . you have only one word for it ..CHAOS ! .. and that has how it has been working out the bugs in these things ..
But were seeing a light at the end of the tunnel ...
Since I have worked everyday for over two months now ... with the beginners videos and my own carving .. not much has been accomplished ..
But I did finally finish the characters for a minature version of The Shotgun Wedding ... These characters are 3 inches tall and I havent got my permant base in yet .. so Iam using a substitute for now to show you the scene ..
Of course they are all in flat plane and basswood .. The scene was taken from a work by one the greatest caricature carver's that ever lived .. Andy Anderson .. but it is minaturized and not even close to Andys work .. He was in a class by himself .. no one could touch his originality ..
Anyway .. here it is and was really fun to carve .. Iam going to put it on a walnut base and give it to my sister .. she's still fighting ( but doing well) cancer ..
Hope you enjoy ..
Gene

| | Re: Minature Shotgun Wedding I'd suggest you make another video....you have all the characters, and it would make a great story
That is a very funny scene you've put together. You can almost hear what each of them are saying. Thanks for sharing them with us.

| | Re: Minature Shotgun Wedding Dear Andy Anderson, you are not going to believe what that Gene Messer has gone and done. He has carved himself a wonderful rendition of your famous wedding scene, only in miniature and did a pretty good job at it. Gene, like so many of us have always admired your work which is kept alive through carvers who are following in your wood chips. So, be honored that Gene has done your memory proud. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
