Default Mantracker

Here is my first attempt at a full bodied caricature. It's my interpretation of the Mantracker, which is a Canadian TV show about a real-life cowboy and search/rescue expert from Alberta. The show airs on the OLN channel. I have to thank Lynn for the hours of online video tutorials, else this piece would still be a block of basswood. The piece is about 14 inches in total. So, I hope to hear from you fellow carvers with comments and critiques, all are welcomed. This one sure was fun to do.

A good job, I can see the hours of care that you put into him.. The only critique I might offer is that his torso is a little "blocky", you might round the next one a little more and then either give him a waist, or a paunch...either looks more natural than just a straight torso in my opinion. Overall a great job and I see wonderful future posts coming from you.

For the first one that's not too shabby. Really like the way you have the head set to the side and the arms actually doing something other than hanging at the side. Having never seen the show I don't really know the story behind the figure but I can tell that something is going on and that's always important. There are a number of improvements I could suggest but the main one would be that the arms appear a little small compared to the overall size of the torso. Next time I would narrow the shoulders a bit and make the arms a little larger.

In all honesty, your's is better than my first attempt. Congrats!

You did a real nice job on your first full figure. Really like the face, he's a keeper! I will leave the critique up to the ones that have got this down.
