Question Looking for quilted bear

Iam looking for the issue of Woodcarving Illustraded that has a quilted bear carved by Rick Perry. Anyone know the issue?

I don't recall an article on a quilted bear. I checked the archives and index--searched on "bear". But if it's the bear I think you're talking about, the carver's name is Rick Ferry--of Littleshavers.com

I think this is a thread referencing the bear you're talking about--sorry no images.

However, here's link to a photo on Rick's website for a bear that Rick did. Might be the same one.

Wood Carving Bench at Little Shavers

His webpage photo, and the thread give a little bit of info. on what and how he does his bear. Between these two links, and maybe an e-mail to Rick, you might have what you need.

Hopefully, someone else can help out with more info.

Rick did carve our Buda bear as a quilted bear.

You could carve the Bishop's "Cubby" as a quilted bear also. Would be pretty easy.

Roger,
That bear was donated to a carving show I believe.
I just happened to have this picture.
The stiching was done after the paint.
