Default Lizzie Bear Foot`

While this really isn't a caricature I'll stick it here as thats where all my things usually go. Taking this one to Dayton so JimWillis from KC can give me some tips on reproducing fur. Been doing lots of Indians with robes lately and think my technique needs some improvement. Hope you like her so far.

She looks pretty good! Jim Wilsford is an animal carver from Tennessee and I've tried a technique that he uses, and I like the way it looks, on some pieces. He uses a small white stone in a flexshaft tool. He uses the little discs and makes sure it has a sharp edge, but I have did the same thing with the blue stone cylinders. What he does, is he puts a small bend in the shaft, so that it wobbles eccentricly when used at low speeds. If you run it too fast, it just makes a straight gouge. But slowing it down a bit really makes some realistic and subtle hair or fur. It goes against the grain to bend a tool, but it works pretty good and is pretty fast also. I trued up the edge of my cylinder first on a diamond stone.

Awsome work on the wrapped robing.
I'm not sure why you don't consider this piece a caricature?
