pete works in all different sizes but most of his stuff is around 1 1/14x1 1/14 by whatever length.that is the best part of that book you can use whatever size you have. but 1 1/4 is a little hard to find but 1 1/2 is usually readily available. hope this helps. bart p.s if you ever have a chance to take one of petes classes do it will be one of the best you take |

I don't work for any one. not trying to promote any one. just passing along what has helped me or what works for me. (I too used "petes" books which helped me a lot, he has three). When I started carving I used several sources to get my wood. some were pricey, some were crummy wood, some where not even close to the measurements you asked for. then I talked to Joe You a caricature carvers of america member. He said Jim I get all my wood from Heinecke Wood Products (715) 822-8642. so I tryed them. they have 1 1/2x 1 1/2 x 12 for I think 1.25 or 1.50 ( they call them practice sticks )and are they good to deal with. no more problems with my wood, they also have any size you want for a very very good price. Hope this helps you. I know they helped Me. Just Old Jim
