Default Ladies, as in Little, Old

Hi All,
About 2003 I was into my little old lady carving stage and thought I would share these. Of the three, "Soups On" was an attempt to use negative space to indicate the steam coming off the soup pot. Didn't work out well as no one understood why half of Grandma was missing ;O). "Coffee too strong Ethel" was humorous but carving execution left a lot to be desired. "Road Rage" always seems to elicit a laugh from folks viewing it, as they, like myself have probably driven home behind this lady. Hope you enjoy.

Ok, Jim, were you following me the other day when I went to Wally World? Road Rage lady could be my twin sister!

Great carvings! So expressive and full of life!

Some more great carvings Jim!!

Can we see more pictures of the soup lady? One person I spoke w/ tested negative space by putting a light behind the carving in a dark room and then taking the time to study the carving to ensure he got what he desired...

Great caricatures! I love 'em! although I have to agree, the "negative space" concept is mit hard to wrap your mind around! Liked 'em anyhow.

I love them Grandma, soup lady, does have a hole in her but actually it makes it "artistic"? What a fun collection!
