Default Just a reminder of how it happens.

Yesterday I was carving on one of my walking staffs with a 3/8" wide chisel with my left hand cradling my work. Now I always keep my hands away from any possible slips and disaster, well , almost always.
Daydreaming got the best of me and when I slipped the chisel went to the bone in my index finger right in the joint next to the hand on the bottom side.
Blood shot through the air as I danced around while pulling out the invader in my finger and crying out for my Mom-ma! If she was still alive she would have kissed it to make it better and then smacked my butt for being so stupid.
The Doc said I was really lucky ( If I was lucky I would hate to see what it would have looked like if I was unlucky,Lol) Anyway, they got the bleeding stopped and smeared some cream on it and taped it up. Gave me some meds for infection and reminded me that I should have a tetanus shot since my last one was 15 years ago. This is something we all need to keep up with! WHEN was your last one??? Mike

Remember that old song Mike....
"Dream along with me, I'm on my way to the ER!"....or was the "stars!"....oh well, some thing like that! Sorry to hear that you're as dumb as me! I was hopeing for better from you.

Hope it heals quick and clean.

Bob

Well, at least you were actually working on something, not just waving a fly away and then stabbing yourself in the leg like somebody I know did once.

No, it wasn't me.

No, really.

Aw c'mon, do I look that dumb?

Seriously.

I mean it, I'm not kidding here! Quit looking at me like that!

Alright, it was me. (hangs head sheepishly)

Well Mike, Join the crowd!

Sorry to hear of your cutting yourself.

Ok, How about scratching your head with a knife. Now that is stupid. really stupid when you do it a second time and a third.

Starting to look like one of those WWF creeps.

Several years ago I was at a carving rendezvous with a friend.

While carving, a fly was buzzing his head so he shooed it away and cut his ear in half.

I try not to cry, I say self "I'm awake, it hurts, my blood is not too thin, I found a bandaid. I'm alive, Thank you god."
Deep cuts, I go for the ducktape... I am very experienced at this.
