Default Johnny Reb - The Trumpet's Sounding!!

Once again I'm going to have to toot my own horn or in this case my Bugle! This piece just has to be one of the best I've ever done. Everything about it just seemed to come together, and no.....I don't mean the attached pieces! Needless to say I'm quite proud of him and he'll find a place in my permanent collection. From the bottom of the base to the tip of the flag he stands 23". There will be a description on the Blog once I get the post typed up. The photos are already up there so you can see him from all angles plus closeups in the Picasa Gallery. COmments welcome!

That is absolutely an excellently designed and done piece, Lynn. I don't blame you for putting him in your personal collection! And I'm about as "Yankee" as ya can get.......just check the -28 degree forcast and the fresh 10 inches of snow out the back (or the front) window!

Lynn, I must say I'm impressed with your carving! Almost makes me want to quit carving at birds and start on caricatures. Would you mind tell us how you made the cord on the flag? It looks like you used a technique that could be used in other settings. Thanks again for sharing. Dick
