Thank y'all for the kind and appreciative words,I had a lot of fun on these.Greyhair,I drill a hole in the cork and glue a dowel in the cork, and then drill a hole in the carving.I will match up the front of the cork and identify it,and draw a circle on the bottom of the carving, and carve away to the pencil marks.

Thomp,
For about $45.00 you could have all 3 of Pete’s books. Not that I’m pushing his books but Pete has a special way of teaching and I feel that his books have been a great investment.
My personal favorite is “Carving Caricature Busts”. This is his most recent and I feel is his best. He walks you through step by step on doing the face detail. Plus he includes many patterns in the back of the book. Retail is $14.95 and well worth it.
The other two books are “Carving Caricature Heads & Faces” and Carving Caricature Figures from Scratch”.
All three would be a great addition to your carving bookshelf. Good luck….

I had my hands on all three books once in books a million, but in a rushed hurry i decided to leave them for another day. guess ill regret that for a while.
i bought the other 2 cca books full moon saloon and carving cca circus to get a broader view from different carvers both discounted probly less than $15.00 total, and both books are great for what they were intended but not enough instructional methods. there set up like a 15 minuet meet and greet session with the carvers.... some good tips but nothing really basic. lots of inspiration which we all need.

thanks myron for the info iguess ill get them books one day... but ill get the one you suggested first.
