Default Jacques

I did this during a whittling contest at the last Great Plains show in Wichita. Poor old Jacques only managed second, being left on the left bank by Skyler Johnson's really neat Gnome. Anyway, as he's been gathering dust on my carving bench I thought I would paint him up and use him as a bottle stopper. Don't know if he'd approve of the Irish Beer bottle he's stuck in especially after the Irish just put the kibosh to the new EU constitution.

Hope you like him. Comments welcome as always.

Lynn, tell me something. When are you gonna put out a book, man, it would be a best seller. Man, you've got enough stuff on your blog and so on that you could probably get 2 books on the market. Please put my name in for the first one, signed.

No books for me Cliff except maybe a compilation of all the carvings I've done over the years once I've lost interest in actually doing it. But that won't be for quite a while I think...at least I hope so. I don't think I could do in a book what I do on my blog. Where else can you send the author a comment and get an immediate reply? No, I'm having too much fun with the blog to take the time involved in writing a book. Maybe a CD or DVD is in the future. Time will tell.

I think seeing you carve in a DVD would be great Lynn. The books are great for patterns etc. but a DVD showing the carver in action fills a void. I love to listen to Gene carve and talk in his videos and the same with my Tom Wolfe DVD's. Nice bottle stopper by the way.
