Default Ironic Mouse

Hello all,

We I carved this little fellow from a hen sized basswood egg. He is finished with acrylics and has an acrylic varnish.
His whiskers however are not the normal paint brush ones. Our cat Mitens lost a whisker and my lovely wife, Laura, kept it for me. I cut it into four small whiskers and sooo I now have a mouse with cat whiskers.

Hope you enjoy it,
Doug

Awwwwww, Doug, I just LOVE your little mousies, and I've missed seeing them! This one is especially cute and I love the story about the cat whiskers! You did a great job on that hen egg carving and I'm looking forward to seeing more of them. Bonnie

Thanks Claude. Thank you Bonnie, haven't been doing too many mice. Darn commission pieces have been getting in the way. Yep TomH he's on facebook, if you go under my albums all the pics are there. Love the Leprechaun series too, might be because of my St. Patrick's birthday too though.

What a great little mouse! What does the cat think? Sorry, had to ask! I'm still trying to figure out how someone keeps a cat whisker. Your wife must have great eyesight! I have to say, that really is support on her part, and well the cats part too! LOL!

Thanks Slowmover and draft51. Sappy, I was wondering that too. The cat lost the whisker on our dark brown couch, she lays on the back of it. She stuck it to masking tape in the top of my paint box. Worked out well. The cat pretty much ignores all my carvings.
Thanks for looking,
Doug
