Default “Hunting Strays” finished part1

I started this project March 1st and just finished it this weekend. 10 weeks on one project is a long time. This little guy has developed from the hundreds of photos that Lynn Doughty has supplied us over the last 3 years. The cowboy measures 12-1/2” tall without the base. The entire unit including the base is 14” tall. I think the toughest part was trying to get that rope to look right in his left hand. It just about made me pull the rest of my hair out. Thanks Lynn, thanks so much.

myron, that is a great carving...........you did old Lynn s cow boy good....here he is..... teaching all of us how to carve ....and we ain't never seen him. lol.......'now that is a cheap class to take....now if we can only talk him into supplying the cut outs ....that would really be cheap.....also you did a great job on the painting

Let's see now.....free Mexican meal out west at Jim's ......and this cowboy ought to be worth something, wonder what Ohio is noted for. Probably more Mexican restaurants like every place else these days.

That's a terrific carving Myron. Really nice. I see you even got the watch chain.

Neat!

Thanks so much Merle, Lynn & Corey.
What ever Ohio's best is Lynn, I will deliver it to your booth at the Dayton show Saturday for your lunch. Then you are invited to the house here in southern Indiana for Dinner....Myron

Myron, that is one sweet cowboy. As others have said, the detail is great. Gives incentive to finish a few more of the carvings I have sitting in boxes.
