Good looking dawgs Corey. About your photos. I have struggled with getting enough light on mine. How many and what size lights did you use?

Thanks guys I appreciate it!

John, nothing like natural light. This is taken on top of my router table in the shop with the light coming in the shop window and under a 2 florescent shop lights. I never use special lighting... I just wait until I get good lighting coming in the shop. Sometimes like the original photos of the non painted ones I take them on the carving bench which has 2 40W Florescent bulbs above it. Hope this helps.

Thanks Corey. It does and it doesn't. I get the natural light thing but my work space is in the basement. Not much window space down there. Well, I will certainly be looking forward to warmer and sunnier days than we have been having here in IL. My latest track meet was canceled due to cold and near snow - in April for cryin' out loud. carvin'

John, I have a cheap little halogen work light.. clip on jobby. I think I gave 9.99 for it. I use it when I photo the pens that I make for sale. I have never needed more than the one and I just messed around with the set up and how far the light needs to be from and the direction etc. and now I know exactly where to put the light ea time I use it. I am lazy and don't use it unless I am photoing my pens and there isn't good natural light. Just be careful if you use these as they get hot as hell and make sure you have proper clearance from combustibles.
