Hey Corey, he looks great, I've got a half finished one on my table, if I ever get to it. They are a lot of fun and seem to be very popular, good work there buddy.

Nice Thomas, I see you did the hunter as well. I am just going to do a tree, coon and dog. I am even going to use one of your suggestions from the thread about what to do with the messed up head.

Corey

now you have pulled off a add on, pat yourself on the back its well deserved, now you can pick and choose to save wood on carvings, or to strengthen the carving when normal grain structure would be weakened sticking out of the carving 90 degrees and such.

the hunter has add on arms that were fitted in the fake pockets. yet still fit at the shoulder and hug the body in a natural pose, and if you didn't know you would have thought i used a 4x4x7 to carve him. but 2x2x10" was used,

i still have bout 10 dogs several coons and a hunter in stages of progress or misplaced, the hunter is carved from butternut a little different property's than good basswood to carve.

if you got a hunter that uses dogs, this is a great present my brother-in-laws are lined up waiting for theirs
