Gene I really like the clean cuts you have made. Their clothing is made from simple cuts that highlight wrinkles and folds. Not over detailed though, very simple. I love the characture on the left. His chin sticks out and is very pointed. His facial expressions are made from simple clean cuts as well. He is unshaven with a dirty look to his face. His expression is excellent, a hobo with an attitude sticking out his jaw as to say who cares! Fine work I must say.

I like 'em too! Where's the railroad detective? You'll have to carve him next.

Two hobos, standing near each other, but facing mostly away from each other. Both have the sad expressions: eyes slanting downward to the outside, mouth the same...sort of sad and resigned. The left one has an old hat, the right one white hair and no hat. Both have a five o'clock shadow, torn and/or patched clothing. Hands are behind their backs. You can see a chain behind them???

Next photo is a shot from the back, and you can see why: the chain is wrapped around both of their wrists (sort of like handcuffs), and also ties the two together. Now you get the idea they're just standing there waiting for the paddy wagon to come and haul them away.

That flat plane style of carving is just plane ...er ... plain magic to me. I like it SO much and it's far, far over my head.
Gee, I wish I could reach it because it looks so very good.
