Hi Windsong, Well here is the start of Hillbilly Sam. I thouhght it might interest someone on transfering a Pattern in the round with pictures. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, we will see.
The first picture is after front view is cut out, save the pieces and glue them in a few spots back in place. I used Hot Glue, works great. 2nd picture is side view with pieces glued in place. 3rd picture is after side view is cut out. 4th picture is with all pieces removed and ready to start carving. Hint, (just use a small drop of glue, about 2 or 3 drops). Easier to remove pieces. Hope this helps someone. Merle

Good explanation, Merle! You wouldn't by any chance be a fly fisherman, would you (hemostats laying around...)?

Hi Claude, No i'm not a fly fisherman Claude. I used to fish with my Dad when I was a Kid, but with a Pole and Sinker for Catfish or anything that would bite. Those Hemostats are from my Radio Controled Helicopters and Air Planes. I sold everything last year with the exception of a few of my tools that I felt I would use. They come in handy now and then. Windsong,
Please accept my sincere apologies. I guess I was a little more tired than I thought I was. You did an excellent job on the hillbilly good carving and painting both.
Merle
Your cutouts look good and I think it will look great, of course I guess I already said that ;O/.

Hi Vic, making the Pattern was easy. You took great pictures, so all I did was print them in Black-White, outlined them with Magic Marker, print them and glue them to the wood. I'm still making chips and maybe half way thru. Having fun though, that's all that matters. Thanks again Merle
