Just to keep you posted so you will not embarrass yourself.

Due to the climate of political correctness now pervading America, those
of us in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, West
Virginia & Kentucky will no longer be referred to as "HILLBILLIES."

You must now refer to us as APPALACHIAN-AMERICANS.

Thank you!

Now if you'll excuse me, I got possums to fry.

lol i nearly died laughing at this !!!....but i do feel your pain and understand,we rural americans here in mississippi have been deprived of our rightful share of hills in mississippi and are currently seeking to have the government remove some from each of the states you mentioned and have them annexed here so's we can be appalachin-americans also, one's no better than there other thank you........by the way i got some sweet taters to go with that possum if ya need it!!

my alabammee gramps had a possum recipe, he would joke about, it had something to do with a good wide pine board and fresh horse apples... I dont remember the rest but you wound up eating the board and given the possum to the dogs...

guess he must a had some rough times in his younger years....
but they would cook a coon if they had one for Sunday dinner,

you know that might be why daddy raised us in Denver,
humm....
something to ponder over when i start up the genealogy again...
