Just saw this old Trygg carving on ebay....must have been one of his earliest, very rough but still can see his style, funny how much you can get with so few cuts! see it at

Thanks for pointing that out Dave. You are right about it being simple but conveys a very strong image. I just really like his work.

Wonder if there are any books on the Trygg carvings? Would make a nice book if someone were to collect pictures of different pieces and the history associated with the carver and the style.

Fox Chapel??? A book idea for you!
