Gene,
I think its great that you've decided what you want to focus on. I know I try to carve way too many things, and none of them ever reach a proficiency level that I'm satisfied with. Good for you! You've made a decision, and a goal, and you stand every chance of succeeding! I can't wait to see your journey and continued success!

Bob

Gene! I enjoy your carvings and the style you carve in,the flat plane. It doesnt matter what size your carvings are, for they all are very unique!! Forrest

Thumbs up Re: I Have Decided To Do It !

Gene, I too have admired your carvings. What really impresses me though is all the time you put into sharing/teaching what you know with us. Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to your next carving.

Gene I am fairly new to this forum, but from what I see of your carvings you are a very good carver. I wish you well in your new approach I think it will set a new standard for beginners as well as advanced to aspire too.

Gene....as you know, I am one of your biggest fans, and I wish you well in whatever you decide....I have to agree with everyone else here....you are in a class by yourself, an excellent teacher, carver, and a man among men. As far as I'm concerned, you're the best at what you do in flat plane.....and I always enjoying viewing your work! Good luck to you and please keep on posting. We all get such a kick out of your lil' fellers, and these two are no exception!! Bonnie

gene, since I have only been using this site for about 4 months, and it is indeeed a blessing to new carvers, i have notice that almost all are willing to share, that is truly amazing to me,
but you are one of the most giving, it seems as most of the good carvers are willing to help any one who ask,
as others have said , you do inspire, and along with making us smile, son that ain't all bad,
one thing i have learned in this world , the more you give the more comes back,
you utube video was something that changed my whole out look of the type of carrving i wanted to do,
gene, thanks from a rookie,
sam

Jack Price is featured in the "First Cuts" series in the summer issue. I found it very interesting to learn that he started carving miniatures because he only had small pieces of wood! It's amazing how the forces of the world shape our paths!
