Default Harold.....

Hi all, well I couldn't sleep and was in the shop working on this one at 5:00 this morning. This is a figure I did for a swap I am participating in. He is carved from a 1 inch square x 3 inch tall basswood block.

I call this one Harold. There is a lot of what I have learned from many folks on this one. A lot of Jack Price, a lot of Gene Messer, some Pete Le Claire, Will Hayden and others. I almost tossed this one in the garbage early on but I am glad I stayed with it as the face is one of my better ones I think. I also carved my first hand on this one. Looks ok I think. Anyway, I think I will paint this one in oils.

Thanks for looking as always, feel free to critique, comment as you wish.

Corey

Hi Corey, I agree, this one is really nice. Great detail and expression on the face.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Cliff, nPROBLEM

CC, I have to stop doing that at the first sign of trouble. Probably have thrown away a few keepers in that past but lacked the knowledge at that time to bring them back.

Thanks again,
Corey

Corey, you really did some fine detail work on this piece. Good job! The only comment other than that would be in the second pic. his stomach looks a little distended, of course a woman would notice this! Actually his stomach looks a lot like my hubby's! LOL!

Awesome. He looks like a guy that used to play piano in a hotel restaurant back in the little town I grew up in.
