Happy one year anniversary to me

Well gang, I've been carving for exactly one year now and am showing my newest piece. Many thanks to Gene for the pattern and idea and also to BobT for getting the DVD to me. I've made a couple changes but nothing major. My wife informs me the dang buttons on the shirt are to far over (live with it honey) He's 6 1/4 inches tall on a 1 inch base and carved from local basswood that I trade for the wifes butter tarts, hell of a deal. Comments welcome, please be kind, like I said, I'm still a newbie.

man as far as carving, you are dog years ahead of me, but i will get to the go, once the pool closes and the grass quits growing,
i think the whole thing is good,maybe cleaner pants than keoma and i have, i like him , I'd put my name on it,
hope the progress in the next year go's as well.

Hi Cliff,

Congratulations on completing your first year. You must be one of those gifted kids. If you didn't tell me, I'd swear you were carving a lot longer by the level of quality in your carvings. Keep up the great work.

Cliff, You keep on postin pieces like that cowpoke your "newbie" status will be history. One year and you're not scared off yet. Just think, in one year you've learned to carve (far better than most one year carvers), Had a major operation, caught and released 487 carp, plus all the other stuff. Hell of a year, my friend......Keep on stackin them.

You are one of a kind with carving as great as you do for only carving one year.Seemed like yesterday you had your hip surgery and then your carvings couldnt hold a candle to ones like this cowboy you just finished! Has it been one year already! I can remember when you first joined the site. Its always great to look back to how you started....and you have made some great strides in perfecting your carving style. This latest bowlegged rider is another of your best carvings. Stick around for another year. And where is that son of yours who was demonstrating some great potential?
