Why not just use a solid color like blue for example?
I triedto post a pic of an old one I did long ago but I can't get the "manage attachments" to work today for some reason. All it does is a double "burp" when I click on it. What gives?

The pic size was okay. I got it to work by clicking on manage attachments several times. Gonna try it again just to see.

It works if I click 2 or 3 times. That's all that matters.

Thomp:
How about a really fine pigment pen? My wife has some she gets at Michael's Crafts - they come in several finenesses of point and many colors. I've used them to sign my name on carvings - they have pigmented ink and will draw on any painted surface.
