| | Done!!! Group Caricature Project II Gentlemen, I am impressed.
Never in my wildest imagination did I expect the finished carving to turn out so well.
I may send all my carvings out to have them done.
I will begin painting today after I get some pictures of the unfinished carving.
Wow, whoever wins this carving has a real prize.
I just can not believe how well it turned out.
You should all be quite proud of your efforts, I only wish there were a carving for each of you.
The Carvers:
Rick-in-Seattle, BobD, Kenny_S, Wood-Whittler, Bob_in_TN, Dryheat,
Bob's Birds, Greyhair, Rocket39, Vacaricature carver, and Mitchell.
The carving is a well dressed man who drank a bit too much and is seeing pink elephants. While the elephant begs for peanuts, the drunk attempts to shoo him away.

Rick, when will the drawing be held??
Great job everyone!

| | Re: Group Caricature Project II is Done!!! Yes, It did turn out great.
One thing about being one of the first to carve is How much to cut off to leave enough for others. My only regret is not taking pictures before and after I carved on it. In BobD's great start and laying the ground work sort of speaking, I just followed suit and the following carvers were able to continue with it. Pretty much the original.
Thank you Rick for allowing us to participate in a great carving project from a pattern of a great carver. |

| | Re: Group Caricature Project II is Done!!! GREAT WORK PEOPLE...
I truly wondered just how the heck a carving could be divided up amongst so many folks without some one being slighted at least some work on it.
i know the early stages of a carving for me are slow, but after i have it mapped and remembered the chips just seamed to fly off and next thing i know its daylight, my thumbs are sore and im nearly done.
how time flies when your having fun...
again great job, and if bobd missis the oppertunity to at least make a mention of this project he would have missed the oppertunity of a lifetime,
although as well as this one turned out i doubt it will be the last... carve all contest - share.... |

| | Re: Group Caricature Project II is Done!!! I started painting the carving this afternoon.
I am using watercolors, which I haven't used since first grade so this is interesting.
I guess we can be thankful I didn't use fingerpaints.
I am about half way done. |
