Thanks for the link, Marci!!!

Last night my wife brought home two carvings for me to see. Her friend bought them in Russia (is that PC anymore?).

One was a Santa-like fellow, the other a Christmas tree. The tree was very detailed, right down to needles on the bough! There were several ornaments attached to some of the branches, which were painstakenly painted as well.

Your link had the round balls we needed, down to 1/4 inch! (I'll check our Rick, too, I'd rather spend money with folks we know!)

Michael

Yes there are basswood eggs, a number of sites sell them. Len Dillon's site is one that comes to mind.

I got started on eggs several years ago, did scenes first then went to animals from eggs. I have done probaby over 75 different designs in eggs. I prefer the chicken size, the finished product is just more appealing to me. I have slacked off the last year or so but always have one challenge egg during Doane. A friend who also attends will think of a subject to see if I can put it in an egg. This year it was a bat. There has also been a flamingo, snake and peacock among others. I've attached a couple eggs I've done. Hope they show up.
