| | Re: Got eggs?! that hump on the egg makes food curve of the back. I'am working on a turtle turned from from a 6" egg with plan to do a baby turtle turned from a 2" egg. He'll rest on the big guys back. Good part of doing half eggs is having a half left over for other stuff.

| | Re: Got eggs?! That egg looks like fun! One more thing I want to try now that I've seen that.
I didn't really know what you all were talking about.
Very nice face. I hope you'll show us a picture of it when it's painted.

| | Re: Got eggs?! Finally have a couple photos of my latest egg guy.
I've done several ball players, a knight, a couple of bikers etc.
This one is Santa the morning after his big run, his coco mug says Bah Humbug and is almost overflowing.
Thanks
Doug
A very Merry Christmas to all and to all, don't cut yourselves with any new toys! |

| | Re: Got eggs?! I just wanted to jump in here and tell you I'm watching and learning. I have a bag of 100 wooden chicken eggs. I used to paint them. And I carve in real brown eggshells with the dremel. I'd like to learn to carve faces into the wooden ones. My hubby cut some of them in half and inset a magnet to the flat side for hanging on the fridge. It works out really nice. Maybe if I get brave enough I'll share some photoes of the painted eggs I've done.
Here is the site I order my wooden eggs from if it will help anyone. www.craftparts.com |

| | Re: Got eggs?! As to being an egg attic i havent had much experiance at them.
but for an eeeh-ugly santa.
all i can find are the hobbie eggs made from rock hard maple,, and they are tough! to carve.
Are there basswood eggs?
I do like the idea of carving wooden eggs as they require not so much material removal to get to the finished project. and should prove to be short projects.
where as some of the really aggressive basswood caratures i have started still lay in wate for me to blow off the chips and finish them,
