Wow MELNM, thanks for the address.

Mark Gargac is incredible. Reminds me a bit of Jeff Phares with a bit of a twist to it. I gotta long way to go. What's a good price for "goose" eggs? So far I've only done "chicken" eggs, it would be fun to try a couple larger ones.

Thanks
Doug

I got some goose eggs for a $1.75 and what I've seen that is about the average. I even seen Ostrich Egg size Yow!!!!!
I haven't carve the Goose Eggs yet, got to many oars in the water as far as carvings go. But I agree they are allot of fun to carve. I have put corks on them for Bottle Toppers, they make good gifts.
Rick has them on his website if your having troubles finding them.

Like them eggs, I have carved 2 over medium, seriously, paper thin for the "white" & 1/4" for the Yellow. My signiture is of a criter that I hide somewhere. In the egg, it's under the yok. Other eggs are lighthouses, nativity scenes, caracatures and log cabins, 2 - 5" tall.
Try cutting one in half, carve the bowed side, use to flat side to mount it on a wall or refrigator. Sometimes I cut through the wood at the top, making an arch, 1/8" wide.

Have fun

Hello Fingers,
Thanks for the idea, never thought of the half egg or carving it as an egg. Great idea!
Thanks
Doug
